\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe palette of surgical procedures performed at our clinic is highly diverse. Therefore, we list here those that are among the most common. In all categories, we also perform the removal of tumors on internal organs and treat various injuries.\n

Surgery of the Upper Respiratory Tract, Neck, and Head<\/h2>\nWe perform surgical adjustments of the nostrils and soft palate. This procedure is often necessary for small breeds with a shortened nose, where the dog snores, has difficulty breathing, or even has trouble consuming food and water.\n\nWe also surgically address eyelid adjustments if they cause long-term irritation to the eye and lead to inflammation of the conjunctiva or cornea.\n

Thoracic Surgery<\/h2>\nAmong the most common thoracic surgeries are lung tumor operations or the removal of a foreign body stuck in the esophagus. Patients are operated on under inhalation anesthesia and monitored using medical devices.\n

Abdominal Surgery<\/h2>\nAt the Horsk\u00e1 Veterinary Clinic, we perform spaying and neutering of both sexes on a daily basis, as well as procedures for uterine inflammation (pyometra) in female dogs, mastectomies (mammary gland surgery), the removal of urinary stones from the bladder or urethra in male cats, the removal of a foreign body stuck in the stomach or intestines, and hernia surgeries.\n

Stomach Torsion (GDV \/ Bloat)<\/h2>\nWe operate on patients with stomach torsion immediately after releasing excess gases from the stomach. The time when the torsion occurred is critical for the patient’s survival. After the operation, the patient is hospitalized for at least 24 hours until their health condition stabilizes. They are discharged into home care only when the threat to their life has passed.\n

When a Pet Needs Surgery<\/h2>\nAn animal’s surgery is a challenging moment for the owner as well. While everyone wishes to relieve their animal friend’s pain, most owners are overcome with anxiety just before the procedure.\n

How to Prepare Your Pet for Surgery<\/h2>\nUnless it is an emergency, you will agree with the doctor on a specific day and time for the surgery. Do not feed the pet for 12 hours before the operation. Upon arrival at the clinic, the doctor will review the necessary documents with you again, answer your questions, and take over the patient. It is not necessary for you to remain at the clinic for the entire duration of the surgery. Animals usually calm down significantly if they do not sense the owner’s nervousness.\n

Where the Surgery Takes Place<\/h2>\nAll surgical procedures are performed in operating rooms with controlled air conditioning and filtration under strictly aseptic conditions. During the operations, patients are connected to monitors checking vital functions, and they receive intravenous fluids and pain medication.\n\nOur principle is to hand the patient over to the owner fully awake from anesthesia. After the surgery, your pet will also receive a protective collar, which they must wear until the surgical wound is completely healed.\n
